On Being Careful About Cleanliness
Ven. Master Hsuan Hua
The professor says everything here is good, except for one thing: the toilets are dirty. We should remember that. Iím also going to be checking each toilet every day, and if I find any dirty ones, I will clean them myself. What do you think of that? If the toilets arenít kept clean, people can get sick due to the poor sanitation. And I, too, know what sentient beings like in their minds. What is that? They like things to be clean. Whether you are a monk, a nun, a novice, or a layperson, you can do this work.
