On Neutralizing Poisons

Ven. Master Hsuan Hua

I am in the process of creating new blood for Buddhism. I won’t allow any poison in the new blood. Not only that, we must neutralize the poison in other people. Poison refers to the three poisons of greed, anger, and delusion. To neutralize other people’s poison means to change their greed, anger, and delusion around. An editor of a respected Buddhist periodical who was visiting from Taiwan was surprised when he heard those comments. He had never heard anything like that before. He said, “I must remember this. I must put your words here,” and he put his hand over his heart.
