155. On Remembering Upon One Reading
Ven. Master Hua
I have become somewhat familiar with the Flower Adornment Sutra as I explain it and so I can remember each passage of sutra text upon seeing it once. I don’t need to look at it many times; after one reading. I certainly won’t forget it. Therefore, when a visiting Dharma Master came here a few days ago and saw that I could still lecture when the electricity went out, and I didn’t need a lamp, he exclaimed, “You can lecture without having to look at the sutra text!” and then he knew. I simply glance once at the text during the sutra lecture, and then I remember it. This is through the aid of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Flower Adornment Assembly.
